How to Soothe a Sore Vagina After Rough Sex
Everybody has their own sex style. Before the 50 Shades era, sex was looked at as a romantic expression of love. Then it was more accepted as a romantic expression of lust once casual sex became accepted. And then. Then there was the 50 Shades of Grey era. Now, I’m not naïve to not have known the BDSM and rough sex were a thing before. It was, but it was more of an underground lifestyle paraded around in movies as a dark thing.
But you can’t deny that once the 50 Shades books came out, the peak in rough sex, anal play, and bondage went up. The book and the movies piqued curiosities in those areas. Around that time, I worked as an adult party consultant and let me tell you, our sales in both bondage and anal skyrocketed. So, don’t tell me it didn’t make it mainstream.
Sometimes after a rough romp in the sack, us ladies wake up with a sore vagina. Of course, we don’t tend to notice it until we start walking around. You know the walk. It’s really more of a waddle, let’s be honest.
A waddle like that can be very inconvenient, especially if you’re supposed to make an appearance at work or a family event. I’ve been there. And let me tell you, three flights of stairs up to your apartment after the fact is not fun.
So, how do we cope with a sore vag? Better yet, is there a way to prevent said soreness? Find out this and more!
How to Prevent a Sore Vagina
While I can’t speak for the dude or the way he’s fucking you, I can at least tell you a couple of ways to prevent a sore vag. Now, don’t shoot the messenger if it doesn’t work because these are not surefire ways to ensure it doesn’t happen. These are simply a couple of tips that might help. There are too many varying degrees with sex to give you something 100% effective.
The most common reason why a vagina gets sore during or after sex doesn’t always have to do with the sex itself. You’ve probably heard me say it before, but I have no problem saying it again: Lubricate!
We as a generation need to stop looking down on lubricant as an old people thing and use it as an ALL people thing. With a proper medical-grade lubricant (not your nasty KY), they actually coat the walls of the vagina, protecting it.
You don’t realize all the tiny internal tears that can happen inside the vagina without lube. Lube is there to protect the inside of the vagina, so you going in there all willy nilly without proper lubrication can damage the insides, leading to soreness.
Other than lubrication, there’s really no extra protection to prevent a sore vagina. Sometimes it just happens. Now, if you are experiencing pain while having sex, make sure to tell him to calm it down. Sex is for both of you to enjoy and it’s your job to speak up and let him know he’s more impaling you than actually fucking you, Olaf (and yes that was a Frozen reference).
How to Deal with a Sore Vagina
Assuming your soreness is from the vag itself and not your hamstring or hip muscles from riding dick all night, there are a few ways you can soothe it.
An ice pack is a great start. Now, this method is for those of you who have a day of sitting in your house post-fuck and don’t need to rush off to work. Put some ice in a little baggie and wrap a paper towel around it.
Also, if you don’t have anywhere to be, try soaking in a warm bath. Warm water soothes a lot of things in our bodies, such as tight muscles or sunburned skin. It only makes sense that it might take some of the sting away.
And lastly, if you have to get up and go to work, an ibuprofen or anti-inflammatory medicine will help it not hurt so much while you’re working. It may take a cool minute to get rid of that sex waddle depending on your degree of pain.
If you notice that your pain lasts longer than a couple of days, consider seeing a doctor because it could be a more serious issue.
