With the holidays behind us and our New Year’s resolutions lingering in the forefront of your mind, wedding or dating anniversary can sneak up on you.

If those credit card bills are only getting their minimum payment, you may be on a budget this winter.

There are lots of things you can do that aren’t cheesy and don’t cost an arm and a leg. Below are 5 cheap and non-cheesy anniversary date ideas that will impress your significant other.

Try the Nickel Date Aventure

The nickel date adventure is really fun!

If you guy’s relish in spontaneity, then this date idea, will be right up your ally. All you need to do is grab a nickel, get in your car, and head to a dense area of town with lots of restaurants.

Now, both of you choose a number between 1 and 10. Your combined total is how many times you two will flip your nickel.

Heads turn left if its tails turn right. Do this until you run out of turns. The results? You’re now at your eating destination, bone appetite’!

Re-Create Your Very First Date

Your first date was probably filled with an array of emotions from nervousness to infatuation. Re-creating your first date can bring back all those warm-fuzzies you felt at the beginning of your relationship.

Going on a second, first-date can also stir up memories. You’ll be sitting there, enjoying each other’s company, and taking turns exchanging remember when’s in no time.

Go See A Naughty Show

If you guys are city slickers’, you will be able to find some sort of burlesque or speakeasy event to attend.

There’s nothing sexier than a solid partnership enjoying the presence of a beautiful woman (or man).

Watching a burlesque show can intensify your libido and enhance arousal. When you get home, it will be hard to keep your hands off of each other. You can thank me later!

Get Outside and Go Sledding

Unless you live in a sunshine state, it’s still very much wintertime. Fortunately, winter will be over within a few weeks, so why not take this time to enjoy it while it lasts?

Getting outside to build a snowman, have a fire, or go snowmobiling is a great way to spend time together this year. There is something to be said about snuggling close to a fire and sip[poing on hot chocolate with the one you love.

Now, I promise these ideas would be non-cheesy, so I will stop right there and let you figure out the rest of this date idea on your own.

Make Something Edible Together

Whether it’s sweet or savoury, spending time in the kitchen (or taking a class with other couples) is a rewarding way to spend time together.

Crafting chocolate confections or creating heart-inspiring main courses, making something together is a phenomenal bonding experience.

The best part? You get to eat what you make! Turning a typical dinner-style date night into a rewarding experience if you two do the work together.

All in All

There are many ways you can hold the cheese on this year’s anniversary date. That is of course unless you guys are going to make pizza. It’s not about how much you spend on your significant other, it’s about the time you spend together.

If you keep that in mind, no matter what you choose, this anniversary will be one for the record book!
